With so many wedding theme ideas on Pinterest and Instagram, it can be hard to think of ways to incorporate your personal style. Whether you’ve dreamt of your wedding day your whole life or you have no clue where to start with planning, customizing your day takes some creative thinking. With all the couples that we have worked with, we absolutely love seeing the unique and personal details that make up their wedding day theme. We’re sharing some unique tips on how you can add some personality to your wedding and make your wedding day have a theme that feels unique to you and your partner.
1. Favorite Florals
One thing we don’t often see at weddings is truly unique florals. One of our couples hosted their wedding at their friend’s farm and made sunflowers a huge part of their day given there was a gorgeous field of them. They served as a beautiful, unique background for the ceremony and were a perfect location for sunset photoshoot. Consider your favorite flower and how you may incorporate it in different ways for your day.
2. Location
Location is a great way to customize your wedding day. Many of our couples choose specific locations because it holds meaning to them. One couple hosted their wedding in Malibu right on the beach because the groom had grown up there. With the sparkling blue waters and white sands, it was a natural choice for Colleen and Marty to have pops of blue throughout the day, along with white and green florals. The star of the show, however, was Colleen’s gorgeous, hand-painted, blue skirt from Chantel Lauren. The way it flowed in the wind was so reminiscent of the waves flowing on and off the shoreline. 3. Personal Favorites
While you can choose a location or a simple decoration to create a personal wedding day theme, sometimes it’s fun to use something from your everyday life that you both might love, such as a favorite movie. One of our couples had a passion for Harry Potter and made that the theme of their wedding day. From their ceremony to reception, Harry Potter was in each and every detail.
