Gorgeous Mt. Hood Organic Farms Wedding

Hiring Moving Pictures was probably the best decision we made throughout the entire process. They made our special day come to life, and the wedding video will enable us to remember our special day for years to come.

Not too long ago we wrapped one of our favorite wedding films and couple from 2017: Kathleen and Ryan. These two radiate such a deep love and happiness that is contagious. Their whimsical garden party-themed wedding day at Mt. Hood Organic Farms (90 mins from Portland, Oregon) was a memorable one!

You never know when you’ll meet your perfect match — the person who can finish all your s…..andwiches. For Kathleen and Ryan, that moment came when they met while working at P.F. Chang’s in Eugene, Oregon. They soon fell in love and have created a beautiful and fulfilling life together. Seven years later, Ryan popped the question over Thanksgiving weekend at their family beach house in Gearhart.

“It was pouring down rain, yet Ryan still asked me to go for a walk to the beach,” said Kathleen. “He had strewn rose petals all along the boardwalk. At the end of the dock, a heart shaped from long-stemmed roses lay, and he said something clever while he got down on one knee. It was very romantic!” With champagne in hand, they celebrated with the whole family. Then began wedding planning.

Now, we are no stranger to Mt. Hood Organic Farms, but Kathleen and Ryan truly made it an exceptionally stunning day with the sweetest personal touches. The mother of the bride designed and hand-crafted all the gorgeous signage; Kathleen and Ryan filled jars of local honey, while Kathleen’s brother created the labels; and the signature cocktails are the couple’s favorite drinks — a Kentucky Mule and Lavender Cosmo from Portland City Grill.

One detail that had us mesmerized was Kathleen’s unique wedding gown from Ania Bridal. It’s not every day you come across a dress made entirely out of pearls! It was stunningly detailed and complemented the location and her veil perfectly! Our videographers captured dreamy shots of the veil as Kathleen walked across the lawn of Mt. Hood Organic Farms. Check it out in the intro of their film!

I never knew I would be wearing a wedding gown made completely out of pearls head-to-toe, but it was magic when I put it on and that was it! My mom and best friend cried and it was over.”

Other unique touches included Kathleen’s beautiful diamond ring passed down from Ryan’s grandmother. This was extra special as she passed away one month before the wedding. We especially loved the incredibly touching vows Kathleen and Ryan wrote for each other.

“People continue to tell us they were the best they have ever witnessed and reflected our personalities to a tee.” We could not agree more!

One of the most memorable parts of the day was capturing the sequence of shots that Kathleen and Ryan took at sunset in a 1970 Jaguar XKE that belongs to Kathleen’s stepdad. It not only made for some amazing drone footage for their film, but it was one of the most special moments for the couple. Kathleen says, “If we had to pick ONE favorite part, it was the moment the majestic Mt. Hood appeared around the corner as we came back from our joy ride in the Jag at sunset. Its beauty took our breath away and there were many tears as we remembered all of our loved ones were waiting to continue the celebration of such a perfect day!”

As for advice that Kathleen has for other couples, she says, “Hire a day-of coordinator — it might be the best money you spend. Recognize what your priorities are and spend your money accordingly. My priorities were videography and photography, so knowing we had the best in the business capturing all the special moments throughout the day was essential.
